Clicking on the icons around the image will do the following.

| Show or hide aerial photos. They will only be visible when the width of the map is less than 1000m. | |
| Show background layers in either colour or B&W. They will only be visible when the width of the map is less than 1500m. | |
| Show or hide grid lines with British National Grid coordinates. | |
| If the map is displaying the results of a different search (eg planning application), then these 2 icons show or hide a highlight line around the selected item. | |
| Selecting a rectangle on the map(#) will display information about features within that area. Clicking on the displayed information will either centre the map on the feature, or allow further details to be displayed on a new page. For browsers other than Internet Explorer, this icon will display information about all the features displayed within the currently displayed map. | |
| The next mouse click on the map will centre on this point. | |
| Measure the distance between the corners of the rectangle drawn on the map. | |
| Change the dimensions of the displayed map. For slower internet connections, using smaller maps may improve performance. | |
| Display a key to help identify the features on the map. | |
| This will allow you to do a basic search for an address,town or village. | |
| Zoom in and centre on the next rectangle selected(#). | |
| Zoom out. | |
| This will give a list of the layers which make up the map, and will allow you to make any of them invisible. | |
| Send an email to the GIS department regarding problems with the geographical information. | |
| Move the centre of the map in the direction selected. | |
| # | For Microsoft Internet Explorer(5+) with javascript enabled, to select a rectangle use a left mouse click to mark one corner on the map, move the cursor to the opposite corner of the rectangle, then release the button. For other browsers, when prompted click on the map to mark the top left corner of the rectangle, wait for the page to reload, then click on the bottom left corner of the rectangle. |

| Address data supplied on this website is provided under license by the Ordnance Survey (LA 079677). |
| Ordnance Survey compile the data by matching with the Royal Mail's Postcode Address File. The data is subject to quarterly revision and updating which can mean new building developments/commercial premise changes etc, may not appear for several months. |
| The data is also subject to the Ordnance Survey's Positional Accuracy Improvement programme which can result in addresses temporarily not matching their correct location. |
| The aerial photos available on this website date from 2001,therefore recent developments will not be shown. Please note that the images are often taken at an angle which can lead to objects appearing distorted. |
