The Taunton Deane Crematorium is ideally situated on the western side of the town easily accessible both by car and public transport.
It was opened in 1963, and built by a firm of local builders and constructed with stone from local quarries. The Crematorium was presented with a Civic Award in 1965 and became grade 2 listed in 1998 for reasons of architectural interest. The large chapel can seat 140 people comfortably, services can exceed 300 people with standing. Funeral services can be witnessed outside in the courtyard which is adjacent to the chapel.
The chapel has a classic pipe organ and modern music and video system for tributes, it also has the ability for funerals to be webcast for those friend and family members who cannot attend.
In the chapel complex there are waiting rooms, availability of refreshments and public toilets. The office is located here so that help and assistance can be given for any information relating to the service.
On site there are extensive car parking facilities.
