The purpose of the Executive

The Executive are responsible for decisions affecting the day to day running of the Council, linking the necessary action to implement the Council's policies. It has the responsibility to listen to and be advised by the two Scrutiny Committees. 

The Executive are the policy forming team for the Council. It is chaired by the Leader of the Council.

The Executive is currently made up of 8 Councillors, known as portfolio holders. Each portfolio holder has responsibility for an area of the council's work.

Executive meetings take place every month and members of the public can attend. View the dates of council meetings.
