Dangerous dogs

A dangerous dog is classed as one that is dangerously out of control and you have real fears that it might bite or has bitten someone.

If a dog attacks another animal this would need to be dealt with as a civil matter.  We are unable to help.

The local Police will deal with all incidents of dangerous dogs.  Further information can be found on the Avon and Somerset Police website.

More information about dog control can be found on the Gov.uk website.

If you want to report a dangerous dog please call the police on 101.

Laws and regulation

There is a specific Act to which dangerous dogs come under.  This is called the Dangerous Dog Act 1991.
