Smoke free Somerset
Health Act 2006 - Smoking ban in work places and public places
On 1st July 2007 England went Smoke free. This means that smoking is no longer permitted in workplaces and public places and the Council plays a big role in implementing the new legislation.
The reason why the law has been introduced is to protect the public and employees from the harmful effects of second hand smoke.
The Council play a primary role in the new legislation, and we have compiled a set of frequently asked questions for you to consider.
