Waste
Waste services are now managed by Somerset Waste Partnership on behalf of the five Somerset district councils and Somerset County Council.
Somerset was the first countywide area to combine waste service functions under a single joint committee of Councillors from all Somerset local authorities.
Who we are
Somerset's main contractors for waste collection, recycling and disposal services are May Gurney Recycling CIC and Viridor Waste Management.
What we do
We manage waste collection, recycling and disposal services for all 228,000 Somerset homes, aiming to increase recycling levels to 50 per cent and reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.
