About this service

We offer an optional garden waste collection service alongside our normal kerbside recycling scheme.

This price covers the cost of collection of the material only. The bin will remain the property of SWP. If you choose not to renew your subscription, we will collect the bin if requested to do so.

Who can use it?

Garden waste collections are only available to private residents. This service cannot be used by businesses or professional gardeners who want to dispose of their customers garden waste.

How do I use it?

You can apply for a garden waste bin, or order garden sacks by using our online form. The garden sacks come in multiples of ten. You can also order by calling us on 01823 356356.

What happens next?

The request will go to Somerset Waste Partnership who aim to supply you with your garden waste bin or sacks within 10 working days of your payment being processed.

If you apply for a bin, your garden waste will be collected fortnightly, on the opposite week to you refuse collection.

What is covered?

Payments for garden waste bin stickers and garden waste bins cover collections until the end of March 2011.

How long does it take?

We aim to deliver bins and sacks within 10 working days, and stickers within 14 working days.

How much does it cost?

The service costs £42.50 a year if you choose the wheeled bin or £20 for a pack of 10 garden waste sacks. Not everyone has a garden so it is important we make sure the cost is affordable but fair. The full cost to the council of providing a wheeled bin service is considerably more.
