If you wish to make a Personal Search application you will need to contact us in advance to book an appointment.
We will require the full address and a copy of a plan clearly showing the dwelling or site to be searched, at least 24 hours before the appointment. We are able to provide information for up to 4 properties per appointment.
The information obtained by a Personal Search agent from public registers is not guaranteed by the Local Authority. The search result is not certified by a Local Authority and any compensation claims would need to be made through the Personal Search company that completed the search.
If you wish to access data to answer CON29 questions yourself, you can apply for access to property related information under the Environmental Information Regulation 2004 (EIR).
This can be a lengthier process and we will not be held responsible for any loss, damage or inconvenience caused as a result of reliance upon, or use of, information obtained as a result of personal searches.
To personally inspect these records, in some instances an appointment will be necessary. Additionally, please be aware that the public bodies concerned have 20 working days within which to make information available to you under EIR. They may be unable to guarantee inspection at a particular time or date.
It is the enquirers responsibility to find out from each data-owning department/organisation whether or not a fee is payable for access in accordance with the EIR.
The document CON29 Data Sources shows where you can access data necessary to answer CON29 questions yourself.
