The Waddle and Walk duck-themed day was part of a summer programme organised by a group of public sector agencies, that has organised a variety of themed events to entertain the children and families of Wellington over the summer holidays. Mayor of Wellington Gary James again joined in the fun.
Working together to share costs, resources and staffing has made sure that local people have the chance to meet up and make new friends in their neighbourhood.
The team was joined by Louise Evans from National Energy Action who shared information on how people can save money on energy bills - further information can be found on www.nea.org.uk.
The children enjoyed a host of activities including arts and crafts, free refreshments and a “spot the duck” trail.
Next week’s event - a Beach and Pool party - will be held in Wellington Park between 11:00 am and 12:30 pm. This is the final Wacky Wednesday of the summer, but the team behind the event is already planning for the October half-term and these will be advertised.
