A lucky Taunton resident has won two complimentary tickets to the Taunton Flower Show after supporting the Somerset West Lottery.
The event organisers offered the bonus prize for the show which takes place in the Council’s award winning Vivary Park on Friday and Saturday 3 and 4 August 2018.
Everyone who bought a Somerset West Lottery ticket during June was automatically entered into the bonus draw. The prize was presented to winner Dawn Lingard by the Council’s executive councillor for Community Leadership Councillor Jane Warmington.
The Somerset West Lottery is celebrating its first anniversary this month with a further celebration prize donated by the Hestercombe Gardens Trust. Everyone who buys a Lottery ticket during July will be entered into the bonus draw at the end of the month to win a year’s family pass to Hestercombe Gardens.
The Somerset West Lottery is a joint initiative by Taunton Deane Borough and West Somerset Councils and gives 60 pence from every £1 ticket to local charities and good causes. It has raised £46,144 for local good causes in Taunton Deane and West Somerset since it was launched.
Ninety-one organisations have signed up to benefit so far and 10 of these have over 100 people supporting their good cause each month. Taunton Town Football Club, and Minehead Swimming Pool Project have over 200 people supporting their organisation every month.
Players have a 50 to one chance of winning one of the prizes, which range from the £25,000 jackpot to three extra tickets. So far 1543 players have won prizes, with 11 of them winning £250 and 155 winning £25.
