Severe weather

2 March 2018

Due to unprecedented severe weather Taunton Deane Borough Council has had to shut its offices.

But the council is maintaining an emergency service via the out of hours number 01823 351411.

Leader John Williams said: “Our prime concern is for our community and their safety. We also need to make sure our staff are safe and available to maintain essential services.

“This means that although we decided to shut our offices people can still get in touch if they have an urgent problem and need our help.

“We are working very closely with our partners who are doing a magnificent job in keeping roads open and emergency services running.

“We can all play our part by keeping the strain on those services to a minimum. Please don’t travel unless it’s absolutely essential and please help your neighbours if you can.

“I’d also like to thank parish and town councils in the area for their sterling work. Our overall message is to stay safe and don’t take any unnecessary risks.”
