Most building operations involving the erection, alteration or change of use of a building, or the installation or extension of drainage works, must be carried out so that at the completion of the works the building complies with the Building Act and Regulations.
The job of Taunton Deane's Building Control is to ensure that buildings which are erected or altered comply fully with the regulations.
We check building work in the borough to ensure reasonable standards of construction, as well as health and safety for people in and around buildings.
