Become a councillor

New applications for councillors.

Councillors are elected by local people to plan and run council business. Becoming a councillor is a rewarding way of making a difference in Taunton Deane and to local people.To help and encourage residents to become councillors we have identified some key information which will help explain the role of a councillor, how to become a councillor and the process of election.

Council meetings

Many of the council's decision-making activities are open to the public. You can attend the meetings in the council offices where you'll be able to observe decision-making processes in action.
Dates, times and locations of the meetings are publicised in advance on the council meetings diary.
