CPA Improvement Plan
The Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) is about helping councils deliver better services to local people. The CPA framework measures the effectiveness of the whole council
Despite this Council being rated as 'Excellent', a number of weaknesses were identified by the Audit Commission and detailed in their CPA Inspection Report of September 2004. The weaknesses include those from the Corporate Assessment and the Decent Homes Standard and Public Space diagnostics.
This information has been used to develop a CPA Improvement Plan. The weaknesses have been prioritised as either High, Medium or Low and include planned actions to address them. The Plan has also been used to develop the Corporate Strategy 2005-08 with a number of new strategic actions resulting. The Corporate Performance Team will monitor progress against the Improvement Plan every four months.
