Paying your Council Tax
Council Tax is usually payable in monthly instalments,
although in certain instances full payment will be due within 14 days. Details
of the payment(s) required will be shown at the foot of your bill. If you are
experiencing difficulty in making payment by the date(s) shown on your bill,
or wish to arrange to make payment annually or half yearly, please contact the Council's
Revenues Services.
To make it as easy as possible for you to pay your Council Tax, the Council
offers a wide range of payment methods.
The most efficient recommended method of payment is of course by Direct Debit.
Payments can be made on the 1st or the 20th of the month. If you wish to pay
by direct debit please contact the Council's
Revenues Services to obtain an instruction.

Please complete your name, address and Council Tax account number if known.
The Council Offices
The Banking Hall at The Deane House in Taunton, is open all day from 9.00
am to 4.30 pm, every week day, (except Fridays (when it shuts at 4.00 pm) and
Bank Holidays) Wellington Community Office is open 9:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday
to Friday, and you can make payments in cash, by cheque or debit cards.
At the Post Office
The Council has made arrangements with the Post Office whereby you can pay
your Council Tax at any post office using a Swipe Card. Your payment will then
be forwarded to the council through the Post Office Giro system. (If you are
paying by this method, please ensure your cheques are made payable to "Post
Office Ltd").
Over the telephone
You can pay by debit card if you wish, by simply telephoning the Council 01823 356598 8.00am - 6.00pm Monday to Friday.
