Other local sources of funding
Funding for the arts can be obtained from many other funding streams - depending on what you want it for.
The Directory of Grant Giving Trust and Foundations can be found in your local reference library, published by Institute of Social Change annually. It lists funders by interest - arts, environment, community etc and geographical areas. So look up 'Somerset' and 'Arts' for example, and you will find details of funders who give grants in these areas. www.dsc.org.uk also gives hints on how to make successful funding applications.
