My Guide to Licensing

My Guide to Licensing book coverPublished by Taunton Deane Borough Council and South Somerset District Council

Introduction

My guide to Licensing is the only book in the Country written for Licence holders or persons wishing to sell alcohol or provide regulated entertainment. The book is a step by step guide to applying for a licence or Temporary Event Notice. The book shows how to complete all the various application forms including how to transfer a premises licence or change the Designated Premises Supervisor.

Foreword by John Woolliscroft - Enterprise Inns

The introduction of the licensing Act 2003 brought about a high degree of concern and confusion for licensees. With the help of trade experts, pubco regional managers and the guidance of dedicated Local Authority Licensing Teams the transition was a stunning success. As a Regional Manager looking after over 60 licensed premises I am aware of the ongoing advice licensees need to comply with the Licensing Act.

Many licensees are unaware of the need for variations when making even small changes to their operation or structure. For the average licensee the complexities of the Act and the new forms it has generated, are still causing concern and the trade has been eagerly awaiting a comprehensive guide to processes and procedures - they now have it.

Jim and Julia have used their considerable practical knowledge and experience to cut through the red tape to compile what can only be called "the Licensing Bible".

Written for licensees, regional managers and those concerned with licensing, its step by step style not only brings comfort and clarity to the complexity of applications, variations and appeals but also gives valuable examples of completed forms.

Whether you run a village hall, traditional pub or town centre fun pub this book will surely become your definitive point of reference for all licensing matters.
