Licensing Sub-Committee Procedure

The meeting will be conducted as follows:-

1. Council's officers will present their case.

2. A representative of the Police and any other technical advisers will give evidence on behalf of the Licensing Authority.

3. The applicant or their representative will ask questions of the Council's officers or any representatives of the Police and any technical advisers who give evidence.

4. The objectors of their representatives will ask questions of the Council's officers or any representative of the Police and any technical advisers who give evidence.

5. Board members will ask questions of the Council's officers or any representative of the Police and any technical advisers who give evidence.

6. When the questioning of the Council's officers or the representative of the Police and any technical advisers is complete, the Council's Lead Officer will have the opportunity to put further points to his or her colleagues arising from the questions which have been asked.

7. The objections will present their objections. It is expected that these will be consolidated to avoid duplication.

8. The Council's officers may ask questions of the objectors.

9. The applicant or their representative may ask questions of the objectors.

10. The Board members may ask question of the objections.

11. The applicant will be invited to present its case and the applicants witnesses (if any) will give their evidence.

12. The Council's officers will be entitled to ask questions of the objectors.

13. The objectors of their representatives will be entitled to ask questions of the applicant/witnesses.

14. The Board members will be entitled to ask questions of the applicant/witnesses.

15. When the questioning of the applicant and his/her/their witnesses in complete, the applicant or his/her/their representative will be entitled to put any points arising from the questions to the applicant or his/her/their witnesses to clarify any particular issues.
