 Food Safety affects everyone. Everyone needs to eat and we must ensure that the food that we are eating is safe. This is important both when eating out and when cooking in the home.
The main role of the Food Safety Team is to make sure that food produced from businesses is safe. The team have powers to enforce food safety legislation in food premises and take formal action where appropriate.
Food Safety Team
The Food Safety Team have three main roles. These are:
- Inspection of food premises.
- Investigate cases and outbreaks of food poisoning.
- Investigate complaints.
The Food Safety Team also like to educate to ensure that the public understand food hygiene issues so that they can produce safe food within their own homes.
