Safer Food Better Business (SFBB)
Safer Food Better Business is a pack produced by the FSA to help small businesses comply with the new Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) requirement. There are now two packs that have been introduced - SFBB for Caterers and SFBB for Retailers.
SFBB for Caterers is not suitable for everyone and is only designed for smaller businesses such as small restaurants, cafes and takeaways. Similarly, SFBB for retailers is designed for independent traders who lack the support of larger multiple retailers, for example, a corner shop with a chilled display.
Safer Food Better Business focuses on the 'Four C's'. These are:
- Cooking
- Cleaning
- Chilling
- Cross Contamination
If you are not suitable for SFBB it is still worth thinking about these when writing your own hazard analysis.
