Stress at Work

The fastest growing problem in the workplace today is stress.

We've brought together some resources to help employers and workers address this issue in the workplace.

For small businesses in particular the PDF Stress in a Nutshell (768 KB) document is a very useful, concise and practical publication including the basis for a stress policy and risk assessment.

A comprehensive set of guidance notes and documents covering all aspects of stress at work can be found on the page entitled 'Work-related stress' on the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) website (external link) .

If you are currently experiencing or are managing someone who feels they are experiencing ill health as a result of excess pressure at work, the following information may be helpful. This particular page on further information for those experiencing stress and for their managers on the HSE website (external link) is designed to help you find suitable sources of support and/or help to enable you to deal with your or your member of staff's personal circumstances.

Get Acrobat Reader The documents on this website can be downloaded and are published using the Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF).  To view or print these documents, Adobe's Acrobat PDF reader is required which can be downloaded from Adobe Systems' website (external link).
