Licensing Policy
The Licensing Act received Royal Assent in July 2003. The Act created a unified system of regulating the activities of the sale and supply of alcohol, the provision of regulated entertainment and the provision of late night refreshment. These activities are referred to collectively as 'the licensable activities'. The Licensing Act is to come into force by way of a 1st Appointed Day 7th of February 2005 and all existing licences must be issued by the 2nd Appointed Day, November 2005.
The Act placed a duty on the Licensing Authority to produce a Licensing Policy. The Licensing Policy is
available for download. Alternatively, copies of the policy are available by
contacting the Licensing Unit.
