Exmoor and West Somerset

Mendip District

Mendip District is set in historic Somerset. Popular tourist spots are the historic city of Wells with magnificent Wells Cathedral, ancient Glastonbury Abbey and Tor, Wookey Hole Caves and much more. Mendip has five major areas - Wells, Frome, Shepton Mallet, Street and Glastonbury. It also attracts thousands of visitors each year to events at the Royal Bath and West Showground and the Glastonbury Festival at Pilton in June.
