50 Notable Trees
Following the launch of the project to highlight 50 notable trees within the district, one from each parish well over 50 trees have been nominated.

Trees have been nominated for a variety of reasons:
- They are very old or large for their species, or have a particularly distinctive or unusual shape;
- They are landmark trees or because they are in a prominent location or are rare;
- They may have historic significance or be linked to a famous person or local tradition;
- They may be nominated for the wildlife that they support.
Not all the trees nominated so far have been photographed but we will be taking photographs of all the trees over the coming months,and these will appear on the website in due course.
We hope you enjoy browsing through the photographs. The range of trees is wide and it is good to know that people in the Borough really appreciate their local area.
If you want to further your interest in trees why not contact your parish council and volunteer as a Tree Warden.
Go to images to see photographs of some of the nominated trees. These photographs will be changed from time to time as new images become avaliable.
