50 Notable Trees - Page 1

Acer Tree

Japanese maple (Acer), village hall, Norton Fitzwarren.

A landmark tree in the village, in a prominent position near to the main road, it has brilliant autumn foliage.

English Oak Tree

English Oak (Quercus robur), The Basins, Wellington.

Beside the path through the Basins, this tree received more nominations than any other.

Black Poplar Tree
Black Poplar (Populus nigra 'Betulifolia'), Lisieux Way, Taunton.

A rare native, this tree is protected by a Tree Preservation Order.
It is an old pollard, probably the only Black Poplar left in Taunton itself, and in a very prominent position.
