Parking permits for residents and their visitors
Please complete the attached form if you are a resident of Taunton wishing
to apply for, or renewing a Parking Permit.

A resident is classified as someone who lives in the town for more than 40
weeks in the year. Permits are issued to assist residents in the parking of
their cars and are therefore not available for passenger/goods vehicles weighing
over one tonne or longer than six metres. They are for use by residents and
their bone fide visitors and must not be lent to anyone else.

Please note :If you already have a residents permit, your first visitors permit is free.
How to identify the Zone in which you live
Search for the zone you live in by entering your address/postcode on our Property Information web page. If you are in any doubt please contact Taunton Deane Borough Council's Car park Section for help on Tel: 01823 356356.
Don't forget these documents
For Residents permits:
- Proof of vehicle registration Number
- Proof of residence
- Disabled Drivers Badge (if applicable)
For Visitors permits:
Residents permits show the vehicle registration number. You will need to supply a copy of you Vehicle Registration Document or, if it is a company car, a letter from your employer confirming the registration number.
Visitors permits show the first line of the address. For both visitors and residents permits you will need to provide proof of residents. This could be a Council Tax demand, a recent utilities bill, a tenancy agreement or an official rent book showing your address.
Renewing your parking permit
For renewals we only require proof of residence so long as the vehicle registration number remains the same.
How to pay
By Cheque or Postal Order (made payable to Taunton Deane Borough Council).
You may pay by cash if you deliver this application to the Car Parks Section (see address below), but please do not send cash by post.

Complete the payment details overleaf or enclose a cheque or postal order, together with the proof of residence and proof of vehicle registration number, if required, and post to:
