Bulky household waste

If you have a large item such as a piece of furniture or a fridge that you wish to dispose of, we offer a bulky waste collection service for a small charge.

What we collect

We will collect a maximum of 5 household items such as a three piece suite, carpets, chairs, bed, mattresses etc. The general rule is, if you would take it with you when you move house, it is likely to be suitable for this service.

Please note:  a three piece suite is classed as 3 items and a bed and mattress would count as 2.

General points

• One carpet must be manageable by 1 person, otherwise it should be cut into pieces, rolled and tied.
• Carpet does not include underlay. This is a separate item.
• One wardrobe does not mean a full bedroom suite.
• Items should not be filled with other rubbish.
• All items must be easily accessible and in one location by 7am on the morning of collection.
• If 2 identical items are on site, but only 1 is on the request none of the items in question will be taken.
• The collection personnel are not allowed to collect from inside buildings.
• Only items listed will be removed, any additions must be done on a separate request.

Items not taken

• Household fixtures and fittings (including bathroom suites etc)
• Radiators
• Household doors
• Oil tanks (plastic or metal) - scrap dealers may be interested in metal tanks
• Cast iron baths
• Windows
• Sheds

What it will cost

There is a charge for this service, which is payable in advance.

• £10 for the first item (minimum charge)
• £5 for each item there after up to a maximum of 5 items.
• White goods such as fridges, cookers, etc are £10 for each item.
