|
|
| Food waste forms over 25% of the average household's bin waste by weight - it can be
composted but it must be specially treated and therefore this is collected separately. You
have been provided with two food waste bins - one small bin for your weekly food waste
collection and a smaller kitchen caddy to use inside your home and transfer to your bin when convenient.
|
|
| Your food waste bin can be easily locked. The lid is secure when the handle is positioned at
the front of the bin. To open the lid, push the handle to the rear of the bin. Please lock the lid
when presenting the food waste bin on collection day.

| Keeping your food waste caddy and bin clean |
|
| To help keep your food bins clean, you can wrap food waste or line bins with newspaper. You
can also purchase approved compostable liners - contact the Helpline 01823 356346.
Please note food waste cannot be collected if placed in plastic bags. Even biodegradable
plastic cannot be accepted, as most types take too long to break down when composted.
