Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
Our Children and Vulnerable Adults Safeguarding Policy builds upon existing good practice across our services and sets out our safeguarding policies and procedures.
The policy aims to:
- Ensure children and vulnerable adults are protected within the facilities, services and activities under the direct remit and control of TDBC
- Ensure that TDBC provides training and mechanisms to support its employees, volunteers and contractors when faced with child protection issues, or incidences of abuse relating to vulnerable adults
- Become an advocate and example of good practice for the child and vulnerable adult safeguarding for other organisations in Taunton Deane
- Ensure that organisations delivering projects involving young people and vulnerable adults funded by TDBC have appropriate policies and procedures to safeguard children and vulnerable adults
We have Safeguarding Champions in place across the Council to provide support and assistance to staff who raise Safeguarding concerns. They ensure that correct Safeguarding procedures are followed.
All Council staff receive at least a basic level of safeguarding training.
