A members club or a miners welfare club can apply to have up to three gaming machines as long as the majority of its members are over the age of 18 and there are at least 25 members.
A club machine permit authorises the holder to have up to three gaming machines of categories B3A, B4, C and D.
Club machine permits have a duration of 10 years.
A members club is a club that is not established as a commercial enterprise and is conducted for the benefit of its members, for example, working men's clubs, Royal British Legion.
To apply please download the application for club gaming permit or club machine permit and, once completed, please return it to us along with the fee for £200.
An annual fee is payable within one month of the grant of the club machine permit and thereafter on the anniversary of the grant of the club machine permit.
The annual fee payable is £50.00.
You must also send a copy of the completed application form to the Gambling Commission and Chief Constable of the Police within 7 days of the date of application.
When we have checked and validated your application, we will begin a two week consultation period. During this time the police and gambling commission may make comment on the application.
In considering your application the licensing authority must take into account the guidance issued by The Gambling Commission.
You should allow up to two months for your application to be processed and approved.
Club Machine Permits are issued under the Gambling Act 2005 and the Gambling Act 2005 (Club Gaming and Club Machine Permits (England and Wales) Regulations 2007.
