Overgrown grass or hedges

Taunton Deane Borough Council aims to keep grass and hedges in public areas tidy.

Grass is cut from March to October, 7-12 times a year, depending on the ownership of the land. Cuttings are blown off footpaths and pavements, but are not collected.

Most of our hedges are cut once a year. Due to bird nesting season we trim hedges only in September and October, but if the hedge causes a health and safety hazard we will attend to it also outside of this time frame.

To report overgrown grass or hedges on Taunton Deane Borough Council land please fill out the online report overgrown grass/hedges form or call 01823 356356.

To report overgrown verges by A-roads please contact Somerset County Council on telephone 0300 123 2224 or email countyroads-tdeane@somerset.gov.uk.

To report overgrown vegetation obstructing public footpaths please contact Somerset County Council Rights of Way on 0300 123 2224 or rightsofway@somerset.gov.uk.
