Voluntary and community organisation small grants

Responsibility:  Somerset Community Foundation
We can provide financial help towards the running, delivery or project costs of voluntary and community organisations in the Taunton Deane Borough Council area.

Defibrillator fund - Closed 30 September 2017

Responsibility: Somerset Community Foundation
Taunton Deane Borough Council set aside £13,000 for the defibrillator fund, particularly targeted at supporting rural communities.  Town and parish councils, village hall committees, sports clubs and community groups were invited to apply for up to 50 percent of the costs of a community access defibrillator. 

Taunton unparished fund

Responsibility:  Democratic Services
The Fund is for Community improvements in the unparished area of Taunton (see map below).  Capital costs only

Youth initiative fund - applications will be reviewed on a first come first served basis for 2018 - 2019 financial period

Responsibility: Tenants’ Forum
Grants to a maximum of £3,000 to support organisations and projects which seek to improve the lives, health and wellbeing of people aged up to 25 whose families are tenants of Taunton Deane Borough Council.

Additional support and advice with funding applications

Engage and Community Council for Somerset (CCS) offer support and advice with funding applications including needs evidence surveys, help with bid-writing, project and business planning. CCS are also able to offer free funding searches for community groups and organisations in Taunton Deane.  Somerset Community Foundation manage over 70 funds for individuals, companies, trusts and public bodies.  They support various voluntary groups and social enterprises in Somerset.
