The Taunton Deane Crematorium is ideally situated on the western side of the town easily accessible both by car and public transport. It was opened in 1963, and built by a firm of local builders. and built with stone from local quarries. The Crematorium was presented with a Civic Award in 1965 and became listed in 1998 for reasons of architectural interest.

A clock is placed outside the Crematorium gates to indicate the current opening and closing times.
Travelling from the South
If travelling from the South leave the M5 at junction 26 (Wellington) and head for Taunton on the A38. After 15 minutes or so and a left hand bend that leads down a long incline to a major roundabout, the large stone cross of the Crematorium will be seen on the right hand side.
Travelling from the West
If travelling from the West, the B3227 and A 358 join at the Cross Keys roundabout. Follow the signs for Wellington and the A38. You should be on Silk Mills road and pass Aviary Nurseries on the right hand side. At the first big roundabout where you join the A38 for Wellington, turn right and the Crematorium is almost immediately on the left, as the road rises.
Travelling from the North
If travelling from the North, follow the signs for Wellington and the A38 through town, leaving Somerset College on the right hand side. After a couple of petrol stations on the left there is a major roundabout and the road rises ahead. Go straight across and the Crematorium is almost immediately on the left.
